New Eurydice report includes indicator on community engagement in higher education

A new Eurydice report published by the European Commission entitled Towards Equity and Inclusion in Higher Education in Europe, which includes for the first time a separate chapter on community engagement in higher education.

The report, analyses the current level of alignment of European higher education systems with the ten Principles & Guidelines agreed by all Ehuropean Higher Education Area (EHEA) countries as a blueprint to take forward the commitment of improving the social dimension.

One of the ten principles and guidelines highlights the important role of higher education institutions in developing community engagement activities. Community engagement is understood as a process whereby higher education institutions engage with external community stakeholders to undertake joint activities that can be mutually beneficial.
